Last week, DisplaySearch,a worldwide leader in LCD  market percent to 30 million in the second quarter this year,and the number of LCD TVs sold in China will probably jump 76 percent to 23.6 million this year.

It seems to be a signal that the current LCD display market is recovering from financial crisis. The world’s largest LCD manufacturer, Samsung Electronics, and Japan’s largest LCD TV manufacturer, Sharp Corp, also have showed interest in building manufactories in China.

A couple days ago, LG Display, the South Korean electronics giant and the world’s second-largest LCD factory,stated that their plan of building an new advanced completed liquid-crystal display(LCD) factory in Guangzhou City of Guangdong Province,China,to meet the China’s fast-growing flat-screen television demand.Actually, LG Display did not reveal details about the new manufacture.

However,this business is still awaiting approval by the South Korean government and the board of Seoul-based LG Display.But LG also stated that they have got the approval from Guangzhou City Government last Friday for building the largest one in China,which is estimated to cost about $4 billion by Maeil Business Newspaper.

In my view,the reason for LG or other LCD manufacturer’s expansion can be concluded in two.One is the recovering of the financial crisis that encourage domestic electronics goods manufacturer to rethink their traditional way of importing expensive LCD displays from abroad providers.The other is the positive effects on the LCD market from the government’s recent effort to provide subsidies to television buyers in rural areas.
